So last year around this time, I decided this was the year I was finally going to go all into quilting. I planned a bunch of projects, bought a new sewing machine, watched a bunch of quilting videos, and instead of throwing out The Teen's old t-shirts, I figured, why not make those into a quilt too. People do that. Right?
We proceeded full steam ahead. Interfacing and cutting the t-shirts. I c(*oo*)ohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01218722564585640147noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3089674015609808023.post-3363582727008925242018-11-16T11:20:00.000-07:002018-11-16T11:20:52.691-07:00Romper Fun

After discovering the Lekala patterns, I saved a few other styles I like for Monkey Pants and purchased this cute summer dress right away. I love the detailing on the bodice and I worked hard to convince Monkey Pants that she wanted a dress for summer. The next items in the Summer Wardrobe are the paperbag shorts and bubble top. We initially bought this fabric for capri pants but Monkey Pants became obsessed with having a pair of paperbag shorts. After a very long hiatus from kids apparel sewing, I'm back in the thick of it making a summer wardrobe for this, now, teen girl. This would have been an excellent idea had I started in the spring but that's not how most of my projects get done.
I stopped sewing for the kids mostly due to time. Driving them around to their activities took all of it!
However, it's been difficult to find c(*oo*)ohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01218722564585640147noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3089674015609808023.post-22453404571089640022018-06-18T10:51:00.000-06:002018-06-18T10:51:32.996-06:00Messenger Bags
Finally got around to making this little boy his own messenger bag. I made these for my kids a few years ago and sadly, as is regularly the case, the youngest didn't get one. He has humbly been asking if it would be possible for him to get his own, and at last his wish has been granted.
Then, I figured if I was going to make one, I should just make several. I don't know if c(*oo*)ohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01218722564585640147noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3089674015609808023.post-59418408720718725812018-06-02T12:25:00.000-06:002018-06-02T13:06:29.647-06:00Triangle Pouches
The kids decided to participate in a local kids market and, to supplement their Perler bead creations, we decided to make these super cute triangle pouches. They are so fun! We had a great time, packing them with all kinds of stuff from toy cars, camping stuff, sewing stuff, make-up, the sky's the limit.
If you are planning on making a few of these, it would be good to source a c(*oo*)ohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01218722564585640147noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3089674015609808023.post-9052855617487746532017-12-28T10:33:00.000-07:002018-06-01T12:08:48.945-06:00Bonjour! Paris
I'm still alive!
I'm still making things. Sometimes. Slowly. With many, many interruptions and long periods of drought where I forget I even have a craft studio in the basement and that I used to document my made things on a blog.
Does anyone even read blogs that aren't monetized, with carefully curated photos, and amazing video tutorials? Probably not. Our small family Thanksgiving Dinner didn't call for much to-do about anything, but my 9 y.o. insisted on fancy napkins. So we found this cornstalk design that was not too hard to make. They turned out so cute and really dressed up the table.
Finally discovered the Moscow Mule. In love. With the drink and the mug!

I made something! Actually, although the daily grind of life has inevitably taken over and impinged on my crafting time completely, I've still managed to churn out a few things hand-made, but only by the skin of my pants and certainly with no time for photos and blog posts. BUT. I'm going to try to start posting them as time allows.

So, the past year, I got Monkey Pants to take ballroom dance lessons. What!?!? Yes, I did. Miracle of miracles. And, she actually likes it. Last night was the dance studio end of year gala. Initially, I thought, oh good, she can just wear one of the couple of dresses I've bought her that she never gets to wear anywhere. Then, of course, we thought, OK, I thought -why not go all out and c(*oo*)ohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01218722564585640147noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3089674015609808023.post-48918427165324557912015-02-13T15:19:00.002-07:002015-02-13T15:19:44.903-07:00Octonauts Birthday Party
I will gladly admit that I'm not up for elaborate birthday parties with 3D character cakes for all my kids every year. Sadly, this means, the youngest one has never gotten a "cool" birthday cake. But this was his year. I picked the theme. Can you tell? Otherwise, it would be a combination of Mutant Ninja Turtles (something he knows nothing about) and race cars. So, I got a bread machine a few months ago. Bread machines were one of those things I didn't comprehend the need for. My grandma used to make bread by hand and I always thought that was the way to make bread. Well, I got sucked into looking at an e-mail with some deals on it and next thing you know, I'm buying a bread machine. Nevermind the fact that my kitchen is bursting at the c(*oo*)ohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01218722564585640147noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3089674015609808023.post-34128637914176938572014-02-07T15:59:00.002-07:002014-02-07T15:59:40.321-07:00Green Cable Throw
So, I started making this cable throw two years ago, right around Thanksgiving time. I made super fast progress on it. Annnnnnd, I never finished it. At some point, I discovered I had made a bunch of mistakes that have apparently become quiet predictable in my knitting-while-watching-tv-technique that I have. I also was just a little bit short on yarn. And so the project sat there in c(*oo*)ohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01218722564585640147noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3089674015609808023.post-26116249953975840742013-12-18T21:00:00.000-07:002013-12-18T21:00:06.880-07:00Dried Cranberry Tea Bread
So I haven't been sewing much lately, but I have been baking.
I got a sudden urge to buy a bread machine. Yup, I'm way behind the times but that's OK. So, I've been making bread just about every day for the last two weeks. However, in order to do so, I've pretty much had to give myself the equivalent of a college course on wheat, yeast, all the various ingredients and the history of bread c(*oo*)ohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01218722564585640147noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3089674015609808023.post-82622523772201826572013-10-06T11:47:00.000-06:002013-10-06T11:47:12.794-06:00Prikka Blouse
